Central título
The Museum of the Galician People's Board of Trustees
The Museum of the Galician People's Board of Trustees is a private not-for-profit cultural institution, founded in the city of Santiago de Compostela on July 31st, 1976, and declared to be of public benefit by Ministry of the Interior Order of February 21st, 2005 (INT/669/2005).
The entity's objectives are to research, conserve, disseminate, defend, and promote Galician culture and its history in all its aspects, and specifically, to create a museum to ensure the achievement of these objectives.
Given its exclusively scientific and research-oriented nature, the Association is not affiliated with any specific ideology, nor can it serve any purposes other than those stated in the previous paragraph. This does not, however, imply a renouncement of its right to participate in public life as a cultural entity, through the channels established by the legislation in force at any given time.
The Association carries out its activities in Galicia and other areas where, due to their affinities with Galician culture or other circumstances, it is considered appropriate to do so.
The Association's official language is Galician. Galician will also be the language normally used at its assemblies and meetings. Consequently, all official documents will be written in Galician, unless they involve a relationship with administrations or bodies not based in Galicia.
The Museum is a founding member of the GALICIAN MUSEUM COUNCIL
The Museum is a founding member of PROXECTA THE GALICIAN FILM FESTIVAL COORDINATOR
